Anonymous asked: what university do you go to?

I just had my last day at Capilano University in Vancouver, Canada today. What’s happening is not entirely set in stone yet, but things aren’t looking too well for the department right now.

Holy shit… our university’s Art & Design program are being cut as of next year, with only the illustration program remaining. I’m lucky to be graduating this year, but this is still pretty sudden, but also horribly news for those students from programs other than ours that will not get to graduate in spite of having spent money and time on their academic career already.

The Silesian Weavers
In lightless eyes there are not tears.
They sit at the loom and gnash the gears.
Germany, we weave the cloth of the dead
Threefold be the curse we weave ’round your head
We’re weaving, we’re weaving.
A curse to the god to whom we knelt.
Through the winter’s cold, such hunger felt.
In the past we hoped, we waited, we cried
You’ve mocked us and poxed us and cast us aside
We’re weaving, we’re weaving.
A curse on the king of the empire,
Who would not quell our misery’s fire.
He took every penny we had to give
Then shot us like dogs with no right to live
We’re weaving, we’re weaving.
A curse on the cold, ruthless fatherland,
Where outrage and shame fester by your hand,
Where blossoms are trampled under your boot,
Where rot and decay are allowed to take root.
We’re weaving, we’re weaving.
The shuttle is flying, the weaving looms roar.
Day and night we weave with you at our door.
Old Germany, we weave the cloth of the dead.
Threefold be the curse we weave ’round your head.
We’re weaving, we’re weaving.

This is my boyfriend of ten years' blog. He's made this page because he (and I, really) has run out of options in his transition at the moment. As any one with gender dysphoria (or any attentive person who knows someone with this disorder) knows, the misery that defines it makes what could be otherwise innocuous aspects of everyday life sometimes really depressing. On top of that, he has run into health risks, we are in no way able to afford his surgeries, and of course, our relationship, while it has been going strong for ten years and will continue to do so, strains under the weight of his struggle and he really, really suffers in ways I won't go into because they are so intimate and awful. Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated, even if it's just a reblog. Thank you.
